Obvious sequel to there's sadness in there, too

The first picture is of some white clouds on a blue background
I’d say the graphics are maybe from the original Nintendo Entertainment System.
The second picture is the same but the clouds are in a different place
Or they’re a different set of clouds from the same game.

The second picture is underwater
The graphics are quite a lot better
So I think they’re probably from a game on the Wii
Or maybe the Gamecube, I’m not sure because of
The difference between the two, yet.
I think it’s from a Gamecube.

The next picture is a castle from the first Super Mario Bros. game
On the NES, but it’s 3D
So I guess that means that someone has put the old game
On one of the new systems
And made it look a little flashier.
It still looks all blocky and bitmap because
I guess they’re going for that retro gamer feel.

Totaka's Song

Kazumi Totaka

Kazumi Totaka (戸高 一生 ,Totaka Kazumi, born August 23, 1967) is a Japanese music composer and voice actor from Tokyo who composed many major Nintendo games, including Mario Paint and Animal Crossing. He occasionally also does voice acting for Nintendo games, including Yoshi from the Mario and Yoshi series.

Totaka's Song

"Kazumi Totaka's Song" is a short, 19 note tune hidden in almost every game he has worked on as a composer. It was first discovered on the title screen Mario Paint, which led many people to refer to it as the "Mario Paint song", and was thought to be the first instance of the song. It has since been discovered in the Japan-only Game Boy game X, which predates Mario Paint by months. It was later found in many other games including Animal Crossing, Link's Awakening, Yoshi Touch & Go, Virtual Boy Wario Land, Luigi's Mansion, and several others. As of now, people are still actively seeking the song in the few games Totaka has worked on where it has yet to be discovered.

This screenshot, from the game X, is where Totaka's Song was first heard.

As for Brawl, Totaka has been the Composition Supervisor of X's "Tunnel Scene" and Yoshi's Story's "Ending", as well as the Arrangement Supervisor for Animal Crossing's "The Roost", and various K.K. Slider songs, which play on the Animal Crossing stage, dubbed "Smashville". A Luigi's Mansion stage is also present, which features a remixed version of the Luigi's Mansion theme. There is a "PictoChat" stage, which has optional Wii Sports music as well.

Confirmed appearances:

Totaka's theme has been confirmed as appearing in the following games:

Animal Forest
Animal Crossing (K.K. Song)
Animal Crossing: City Folk (K.K. Song)
Animal Crossing e-Reader cards (#P15, "Boy," "Who's Dunnit?")
Animal Crossing: Wild World (K.K. Song)
Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and the DX version[z 1]
Luigi's Mansion
Mario Artist: Talent Studio
Mario Paint
Pikmin 2
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Virtual Boy Wario Land
X
Yoshi's Story
Yoshi Touch & Go

Unconfirmed appearances

Totaka's Song is still being looked for in these games and applications:

Wave Race 64
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Wii Sports
Wii Channels
Wii Music

K.K. Slider

The character K.K. Slider in Animal Crossing is named Totakeke (とたけけ) in the Japanese version. This name could be derived from how Totaka's name is said in Japanese (the last name coming first), Totaka K. Totakeke is said to be an animal version caricature of Totaka.
At the Mario & Zelda Big Band Live concert, some fans shouted "Totakeke" while the host grabbed a guitar and gave it to Totaka. Totaka then sat down on a chair like K.K. Slider while Shigeru Miyamoto held a picture of K.K. Slider next to Totaka.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl features K.K. Slider singing at the Smashville stage on Saturdays after 8:00 PM, just as he does in the Animal Crossing games.

The Caves

My dad’s speculating about some teenagers who died
There was just a picture of them on the news
That’s why he started talking about them
There was an accident in some caves
I missed the introduction
I just came in when there was a picture
Of a handsome young boy with brown hair
And tanned skin
On the screen
With some headings
His name doesn’t register
Just some blue sparkle near the top of his face either side
So that’s his eyes
Dad’s saying that he would imagine that there would have
Been fires inside the cave
Then something about the moisture
Complications
It seems irrelevant but I’m still a little zoned out
I think about teenagers lighting fires
Listening to tinny crackles of rappers on their telephones
Trying to talk over each other because
They want every one of their words to mean
What it could
When at the moment it doesn’t
And now I guess it’s not going to last

I think I’d feel a little less crappy today if

I want to be sat in the Spider House Café in Austin, Texas.
I want to be wearing a hooded top because the evening
Has just started to edge on and I get a little chill but it’s
Such a pleasure to be sat outside at the old metal table
With friends that I’m not going to go in on account of anything
I want the light, hazy, 7am, talk about bats, talk about punks
Make plans outside for later that night, end the night back
Where it’s starting. Fairy lights and 90s music, iced tea on
The patio and yeah I’m lonely but
I can hold it off so long as I imagine that you could be there
With me seeing this place that you never got chance to.

Jealousy

None of my words curl at the end
Sometimes I try and hide
Sometimes I try and fold them over me
Like corners of a duvet feel
When you’re trying to finally
Get to sleep at 9am
And you know that if this day
Is wasted
You’ll be flooded with that feeling
Of wishing you’d done more
Or jealousy of the people
Who were up early
Or the people who weren’t up late
And you try to fool yourself
That you don’t care
So there’s this feeling of
Antagonism
For people who aren’t
Sympathetic to the greasy hair
And shining face that you’ve
Become
Up late drinking
Up early trying to sleep
None of the songs from last night
Would be any help to you now
They probably got their own sleep
Called it a day before you did

Haunted House in a Computer Game

If you can convince yourself
That every crack is a ghost
Then you’ve got yourself a haunted house

If you can squint hard enough
So that each face becomes blank
Then you’ve made your own morgue

I’m only writing because
I’m scared of things that I can’t say out loud

I’m only scared of things that I can’t say out loud
Because I can’t get them to stand still for long enough

Some of the best of Nick Cave

Some of the earlier Bad Seeds records have been re-released recently. I thought I'd have a go at putting together a mini best of based on some of my favourite songs.

I could go on ...

New ideas 122

- Why?
- It would help. I could ask you things.
- Ask me now.
- Not like that. I haven’t got any questions that I want to ask. But if you were here then I’d be able to find things out. Otherwise it’s just like looking at a picture. It doesn’t feel real.
- ...
- It feels like what it would feel like talking to a ghost.
- I’m not a ghost.
- You’re not here.
- It makes a difference. I said that.
- If I was there what would you want me to do?
- I don’t know.
- Would you want to fuck me?
- I don’t know. Yeah.
- Do you think that I’d like you to fuck me?
- Yeah. You would like it.
- You sound sad.
- No. I don’t think I’m sad. I don’t think I’d know what to do with you. Things are always different when people are naked.
- Would you be scared of me?
- No. It’s just different. Things that I think are not the same as things that I do.
- What do you think about?
- Some of the things that I do. Some of the things that I don’t do. Some of the things that I think about but do that are different. Other stuff.
- What other stuff?
- How much do you think about death?
- I don’t know. I’ve not really thought too much – why? How much do you think about death?
- Too much. Not enough. Hardly ever. All the time.
- I want to be there.
- ...
- Do you want me there?
- I think you need everyone to want you.
- What?
- I think you need everyone to want you. You want people to need you.
- Do you need me?
- I don’t know how to answer that. I don’t know if I need you.
- Do you want me to be where you are?
- What do you want me to say?
- You think that I’m going to say that I don’t want you to need me.
- I don’t know what you’re going to say.
- Do you know what you think I’m going to say?
- So you get it?
- Yeah – two different things.

EYEHATEGOD

I watched a guy in an EYEHATEGOD t-shirt walk around my friend’s art show.
He had quite wide, broad shoulders.
He was slim, in a well built way.

Gooey

His balls felt like large marbles. They hung tightly in his scrotum as the blood continued to chase forwards into his dick. He placed his hands backwards onto her breasts – they felt smoother like that – his fingers would be smudged with tiny clammy slips of perspiration. He dipped each of his knuckles over her tits, one by one, rubbing her nipples ten times over. He leant forward jerkily and placed his mouth round one and started to ease his tongue around it while he squeezed the other with a hand, covered it totally, massaging it in his grasp.

She leant back closing her eyes. For a second he worried about what she was seeing but he quickly put that to the back of his mind as he got onto his knees at the side of the bed.

He loved how her cunt smelt when she was on her period. He parted its lips by placing a hand at the top of each thigh and pulling them gently open. He stared at the gooey red blur and tried to curl himself up in the musty scent.

The first thing he did was rub a finger against her clit and then slip it inside her, pulling it out quickly and sucking on it, pulling off the blood and pre-cum with his tongue, using his own saliva as leverage for the suction.

He devoted the next thirty minutes to waggling his tongue against and around her vagina, licking his lips every now and then, like an excited dog.

Pilgrimage

We took the train to Charelville, so that we could visit an old friend that we had never been face to face with before. He'd been good and important to us for so long, that it would feel wrong not to go and see him. We walked the same streets that he did, we got to breathe the same air that he used to. We sat with him. One of the most special moments I've had. I didn't want to leave. I know that I'll remember that day forever. You either know how much that all means to me, or you don't. It doesn't matter.
